......Studies on the living standard in Stara Zagora in the 19th century; the national holidays and enjoyment during the national revival; the customs; the ethnic and religious communities in the province Stara Zagora; water-supply and fountains, vine-growing and production of wine and others.

......Plans and programmes in the department:
......1. The workshop – ‘Bulgarian tradition is still alive’ – competitions by pupils for making Sourvaknitsa, Martenitsa and Easter Eggs. They are held at the house museum ’19th century’s town life’.
......2. The museum ‘Bulgarian tradition is still alive’ and the exhibition ‘Trades in Stara Zagora between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century’ give the best condition to workshops and lectures.
